Answer :

Never mind. I figured it out. If anyone else needs to know this is how you do it: you must enter the date in a different format. I originally entered the date by writing September 1 etc the computer changed it to 09/01/2011. this method autocreates ranges. I changed it and entered 9/1 , 9/5 etc and this resulted in a simple display of the dates I enetered only!
