Why atom is electrically neutral?

1 Answer

Answer :

Atom of an element is electrically neutral because it contains equal number of proton & electrons. In other words in an atom of an element number of positive charges (protons) are equal to number of negative charges (electrons) . Hence they cancel each other & as a result atom becomes charge-less or neutral.
