What is unilateral and bilateral circuit?

2 Answers

Answer :

Unilateral circuit: If the characteristics or properties of the circuit may change due to change in the direction of current then the circuit is called as unilateral circuit. Examples of unilateral circuit are diode and transistor.

Bilateral circuit: If the characteristics or properties of the circuit may not changed due to change in the direction of current then the circuit is called as bilateral circuit. Example of bilateral circuit is Resistance.

Answer :

Unilateral Circuit: If the characteristic (response or behavior) of circuit depends on the direction of flow of current through its elements, then the network is called as a unilateral network.

Bilateral Circuit: If the characteristic (response or behavior) of circuit is independent of the direction of current through its elements, then the network is called as a bilateral network.
