Where are portable screw compressors used?
The use of a portable screw air compressor in road, construction, mining and installation works indicates that its area of practical use is very wide.
The compressor is installed on a trolley with a swivel mechanism, or on a frame - skids. The towing speed has certain limitations. For a compressor installed on a trolley, the towing speed is within 50 km / h, for a frame structure (skids) - 5 km / h. Additionally, the bogie is equipped with a clutch and leaf springs to minimize vibration. The temperature range in which portable screw compressors can successfully operate is in the range from +40 to -40 degrees Celsius.
A characteristic feature of operating diesel screw compressor stations is a fairly low noise level, which is suppressed by a body equipped with lifting shields. In addition, it protects the device from dust, sand and other contaminants. Stability and high performance are the most characteristic features of screw compressors.
Exploitation
The integrity of the air duct and all its connections is very important during compressor operation. Even with an opening in the duct up to 3 mm in diameter, about eleven liters of air will be lost every second. This equates to the capacity of a small reciprocating compressor or a small portable air compressor. That is why it is so important to constantly check the integrity of all its connections.
The use of a small diameter hose as an air duct is also impractical. This is especially important when using a hot compressor when transferring air over long distances. At the same time, there is a decrease in productivity due to friction. Therefore, it is necessary that the hose has a diameter equal to the outlet diameter of the nozzle. No less important during operation is oil level control and timely replacement of worn rings. Compliance with these important, but fairly simple requirements will significantly lengthen the life of your compressor.
