The pump’s motor drives a diaphragm or a turbine that is typically measured by gallons per minute (GPM) or pounds per square inch (PSI). A model with a higher PSI means that it can transfer more viscous liquids into containers. Although this type is quite durable, it can also be damaged by too much load. The motor can even burn if not used properly.

There are many varieties of fuel transfer pumps with different features on the market today. Some are designed to be lightweight and easy to handle. Nozzles are either manual or automatic and cords vary in length. New models have adjustable suction pipes and features that allow for easy installation.

When buying a fuel transfer pump, it is best to choose a model with a fast transfer time for quicker fueling. These models may cost more, but they will make your job a lot easier.
