How to Keep Your House Clean
Are you afraid that your house will turn into one of those cluttered houses that need very professional cleaning? Fear no longer. By committing to cleaning even just one part of your house 20 minutes a day, you’ll find that you don’t have to deal with a big mess at the end of the week. Here are some tips on keeping your house clean without losing your mind:

Be Organized
Organizing your tasks is a huge time house cleaningsaver that gets things done faster. Assign major tasks to be done on certain days. For example, laundry is done every Saturday, while mopping will be done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Vacuuming can be done on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Get the gist? Having set dates will make sure that you have all the chores covered.

Set aside a weekend to get your things organized as well, so that you know exactly where goes what. Train yourself and other people living in the household to develop the habit of putting things back where they got it. The simple act of putting toys back in the toy box or putting the dirty clothes in a hamper will save you an hour or two collecting them in bulk. Get rid of the things you don’t need. You can even host a garage sale if you like.

Keep the Kitchen and Bathrooms Clean
The kitchen and bathrooms are the two places in the house that get dirty in the shortest amount of time. They’re also the rooms that make your house feel the dirtiest if left unattended in even a few days.

Devote at least thirty minutes a day cleaning and scrubbing both your kitchen and bathrooms. For the kitchen, make sure that surfaces are wiped clean, plates and utensils cleaned and put away, floors swept and mopped. For the bathrooms, make sure the tiles are clean and surfaces are wiped as well. Have a more thorough cleaning session with both kitchen and bathrooms over the weekend.

Don’t Procrastinate
Your biggest enemy when it comes to keeping the house clean is procrastination. Don’t put off doing the little things you can do now. For example, make the bed as soon as you get up. Put things away as soon as you’ve used them. Clean utensils and plates as soon as you’re done eating. Take out the trash when you’re supposed to. The longer you put off doing the smaller things, the bigger chances that they will accumulate to become bigger chores.

Delegate
Delegate tasks to the different people living in your house. Have a rotating schedule so that everyone has a chance to try different chores. Be firm in keeping to the delegation!

Multitask
Talk on the phone while doing the dishes or wiping the countertop. Watch TV while folding and ironing the laundry. Multitasking is an important part of keeping your house clean in a shorter amount of time. It won’t be easy at first, but you’ll get used to it.
