You will need ten inches of space between the top of the garage door opening and the ceiling for the extension springs of the EZ-Set system. If you use the standard torsion springs, you will need an additional twelve inches of room between the garage door opening and the ceiling. There is a low track option that might be available if you are short on space between the opening and ceiling. If you are going to use an electric garage door system, it is possible that you might need even more space.

The last step is to measure the back room of your garage. The back room is that distance between the garage door opening and the back wall. At least eighteen inches of door height is required, but if you are using an electric garage door system, it is possible that you will need more than that.

Once you have purchased the garage door, it is possible to install the door yourself.

First, remove the old garage door that is already installed. Then, attach the appropriate hardware to the correct sections of the door.
