Why is glazing used to make ceramic materials ?

1 Answer

Answer :

A mixture of ceramic materials is molded into a specific molding of the crossing and after drying in hot air, it is burned and turned into perforated burnt ceramic material or biscuits. In this condition it is given glazing by melting silica felsper , china clay , borax , boric acid , alumina , lead oxide etc. into a thin glass material. Glazing closes the pores on the surface of the material biscuits.
