I think they could be a sign of the unconscious “speaking”. I have seen people “slip” sometimes where it did seem to reveal something they didn’t wish to reveal. I know that it isn’t guaranteed that they work that way, but it interests me greatly. Funny story: I remember my mom asked something about what I would do if my future partner did such-and-such (I don’t remember what it was) and I said “I’d punch ‘em in the face”. And my mom said “you’d punch him in the face, huh?”. And I was like “I said ’‘em” not ‘him’”. And my mom goes, “oh, okay, I thought maybe it was a little Freudian slip there.” But it really wasn’t…lol. That’s the closest my mom has come to saying “Dominic, I think you’re gay.”
