I’m not sure that this is the best idea. I would donate, but not to some random person. It could easily be a scam. I would contact http://www.redcross.org/ and see if the are interested in helping. And they did the texting thing for Haiti so it would be pretty simple for them to set-up. But, like I said most people aren’t going to text a person five bucks without knowing the recipient is legit.
