Kennedy and Khrushchev both benefitted from the situation. Kennedy now had an increase in reputation and had boosted morale throughout America. He had also kept the missiles in Turkey a secret, meaning he did not loose any influence. Khrushchev brought the claim that he had created World peace, he was the one who suggested compromises and had protected a smaller communist country. However, Kennedy was forced to allow communism to grow in Central America, right on their doorstep. They also did not have anymore weapons/threats in close range to the Soviet Union. Furthermore, Khrushchev was forced to step down from his role two years after the Crisis because his party thought he was reckless and dangerous. It would appear that Castro actually seemed to benefit the most because he didn't loose
