Universities which are usually primarily funded by the government of a country are called public universities. Private universities, on the other hand, do not usually receive financial benefits from the government. Universities that are not run by the government are called private universities. Private universities are established in accordance with government law and are approved by a grant commission but do not have government control over its activities. Most countries in the world have private universities. In many countries of the world including Bangladesh, the number of private universities is more than government universities. In some countries of the world, national universities are seen as public and in some countries as private. In many countries, public universities are better in terms of teaching and research activities.
