The symbol of Satanism and the symbol of the black magicians . The New Testament provides a more detailed account of Jesus' temptation. In the Abrahamic religion, Satan is compared to a devilish angel or demon who inspires people to do evil or sin. According to Islam, Satan is considered as the main enemy of Islam. After the Renaissance in Europe, Satan was actually metaphorically referred to as lack of faith , separatism , freedom of will , knowledge, and enlightenment. In literature we see the devil in Milton's Paradise Lost. Prior to 1980, Satan-worshiping groups were considered secretive and illegal. Anti-hadith laws, such as the British Hadith Studies Act 1835 (which existed before 1951), reflect the anti-hadith and anti-satanic sentiments of the people. Modern Satanism first came to the fore in 1967 with the founding of the Church of Satan or "Church of Satan". Although the modern satanic groups are divided into two groups, the two main sects are theists and atheists. Theistic satanic groups worship Satan as a Muslim magical god. Atheist satanists, on the other hand, consider themselves atheists and consider the devil as a symbol of human evil.
