answer:Car insurance depends on many many factors (you named a few), including your state laws on the matter. A national average wouldn't do you much good in this situation because some people, depending on their state of residence, driving history, and car, will always pay much more than the average, while some will pay much less. I don't know the insurance laws in Ohio, but if it is not a heavily regulated state, then you stand a fairly good chance of saving some money if you switch to one of the low-cost companies (progressive, geico, etc). However, you also mentioned that you have no speeding tickets or accidents in the past 3 years. Many insurance companies look further back than 3 years (some go as long as 7), so that may also be a factor. Getting insurance quotes is a hassle, but it can also be worth it. I would call one or two of the low-cost guys, as well as one or two of the more pricey companies and then you'll have a good idea how your current payments stack up. Finally, based on having lived in and payed for car insurance in 3 different states in the past 3 years, I'd say $780 a year is a good deal.
