Answer :

Swishy nylon pants are probably appropriate for warming up before a marathon. Not so good after getting out of a pool (unless lined with something other than nylon). If you wear them with the jacket, it might be advisable to be wearing a number on the singlet under the windjacket. As the singlet will no doubt be tucked into the running shorts you are wearing under the nylon pants, it will not hang below the jacket. I have no idea why anyone would make fun of you for wearing them . . .
