answer:Its been a long time since I was there, mid eighties but we were not allowed visitors for the first few months as it was complete imersion. Not sure what it is called now but it was Defense Linguistics Institute when I went. We were allow just a few phone calls in English a week and we could write letters but there were no visits. You stayed at that time in 4 person rooms, not barracks did limited PT, and we were not allowed off the base for months.
