Why does the gold coloring on costume jewelry rub off, and is there a way to prevent it?

1 Answer

Answer :

answer:It’s losing its color because it’s gold-plated. Sweat increases the rate of the jewelry losing its color and although you can get it re-plated, it is probably not worth it. If you want it to last longer, make sure not to wear it when you shower or try to not wear it when you are sweating. If you really insist on wearing gold jewelry, paint the jewelry with a clear coat of nail polish. It will prevent the jewelry from losing its color.
