Yes while on vacation in Hawaii last year. When the tsunami warning came ( 6 AM ) we were staying at a place 10 feet above sea level with a predicted 15 to 18 foot wave. All people were told go to higher ground. Packed everything in the car. One of the assembly areas was the local baseball field. We bypassed the ball field and went to the shopping mall 12 miles away. Spent the day watching local hula and ukulele schools put on an impromptu show for everyone. We returned after the wave past, lucky it was only 18 inches instead of 18 feet.
