It is still pretty hot here especially for Mid August. In fact I don’t remember an August this warm. Mix of dry and wet spells really has things mixed up at best. I hope your dad is dead nuts wrong too!

The energy from any electrical hit would get dispersed and dissipated faster than your last paycheck. If the strike hit some oil soaked floating booms then I’d say there was a chance.
