It’s not necessarily the size, but the aspect ratio that means the most, in my opinion. Back in the day, smartphones would have 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio, so they weren’t long candy bar shaped beasts. There was more real estate to read and be productive. Now, phones are absurdly tall and narrow. Take the Galaxy Note series. The Note 1 was 16:10. The Note 20 is 20:9. It is silly. Anyway, the days of hardware experimentation and innovation are over. Phones are supposedly becoming larger, but they’re really becoming narrower and taller. Innovation now means removing features.
