Describe the structure of Nephrons?

1 Answer

Answer :

Nephrons are the functional units of kidney. They are the tubules where urine is formed. There are over millions Nephrons in each kidney. Each Nephrons has two parts renal corpuscle and renal tubule

1. Renal corpuscle

Renal corpuscle has two main structures, i.e. glomerulus and Bowman capsule .glomerulus is a tuft of blood capillaries formed by division of small arteries and veins. Bowman capsules is cup shaped structure enclosing glomerulus.

2. Renal tubule

A small tube in the kidney that contains cells that filter and clean the blood . There are about 1 million renal tubules in each kidney. The renal tubules make urine by removing waste, extra fluid, and other substances from the blood. Urine moves through the renal tubules into the tubes that carry urine from the kidney to the bladder.
