A neutron star is a lump of matter composed entirely of neutrons, thus containing a large mass (typically between 1.4 and 3.2 solar masses in a very small volume. This matter is so dense that typically one teaspoon of neutron star (5 ml) would have a mass of about 5 and a half billion tons.
