Border Patrol Agents work as uniformed law enforcement under theU.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) division. The CPB is partof the Department of Homeland Security. The mission of the BorderPatrol is to find and stop aliens from coming into the UnitedStates illegally. In order to do this they must patrol the Mexicanand Canadian borders as well as the 2000 miles of coastline andwaters around Florida and Puerto Rico. Border Patrol agents arealso responsible for finding, detaining and/or deterring terroristsand stopping terrorist weapons from getting into this country.The activities a Border Patrol Agent must perform in order tofulfill their duties include setting up surveillance, tracking downleads, responding to signals from electronic television systems andlooking for illegal aircraft
