What floor is better to live on?
Which floor is more suitable for living in terms of convenience, safety and comfort? To answer this question, consider the advantages and disadvantages of apartments on different floors.
1st floor
Which floor is better to live onApartments located on the ground floor are most often robbed. Insects and dust often get there from the street, and if the house is old, then the basement dampness will also be felt. However, owners of apartments on the ground floor have more chances to escape in case of fire or collapse. There are many more minuses than pluses, so apartments on the ground floor usually cost 15% less than similar ones on the floor above. In "Khrushchevs" such a price difference can reach 20%.
2nd Floor
The second floor is more secure. It is ideal for older spouses or families with small children. The problems faced by the residents of the first floor are inherent, but to a lesser extent.
3 - 6
In the old five-story buildings, the third floor has always been the most popular. Problems can arise only when moving or buying bulky things. From an environmental point of view, the fourth, fifth and sixth floors are best suited for living. However, when an elevator breaks down, older people may encounter difficulties.
7-16
The seventh floor is considered the "golden mean". Car exhaust and noise almost never reach it, and the height is not so great as to cause panic. The brightest apartments begin from the eighth floor. However, people with an unbalanced psyche or cardiovascular diseases are not recommended to settle so high.
Above 16
Apartments located above the sixteenth floor can rightfully be called panoramic. Their windows offer the best view, and the air at this height is the cleanest. These floors are also the warmest, however, and the most dangerous in case of fires.
The last floor
If the house is old, then the apartments on the top floors are discounted and the reasons are quite obvious. Life under the roof itself is fraught with numerous leaks. In addition, intruders do not have to go down from the roof and enter the apartment through the window. Inhabitants of the last floors of old houses often have difficulties with water pressure and heating in winter.
But in new, modern high-rise buildings, everything is exactly the opposite. The presence of a technical floor solves problems with leaks. Competent wiring of water supply and heating pipes solves problems with water pressure and heat. If the house is equipped with two elevators, then the probability of failure of both at once is quite small. And the advantages of the cleanest air and a beautiful view from the windows remain. Therefore, prices for apartments located on the top floor of a modern new building are often even overpriced.
