Today a neighbor banged me that he couldn't call me. And the bell really doesn't work for me. So there was a repairman and it's okay. But the point is, I've been wasting a month. What if there was already a check? Would they let me know? Maybe a letter? What can happen if they don't find me at home? Am I paying a fine?

You are obliged to secure the bell so that it works. If the check was at your place, it would leave a notification in your mailbox, if you have it marked. If the check does not catch you at home, you will lose part of your sick leave, or even your entire sick leave.
