Yes, it can be fixed, you just have to figure out where it broke. if at the base of the controller, you need to disassemble the controller, cut out the faulty part, and solder it back where it is still good. If the connector is broken, the defective part must still be cut out and another USB cable can be soldered to it smoothly. It just needs to be well insulated and possibly shrunk.
