There are currently four types of savings certificates introduced in the market by the National Savings Department. At the end of the term, a good amount of profit is obtained from these. In that case the profit rate is a bit lower. That is, the amount of annual profit will vary. Family Savings Certificate: This is a 5 year term savings certificate and at the end of the term 11.52 percent profit is available. The savings certificate is sold for 10 thousand , 20 thousand , 50 thousand , 1 lakh , 2 lakh , 5 lakh and 10 lakh rupees. Family savings certificates worth a maximum of Tk 45 lakh can be purchased in one name. Pensioner Savings Certificate: This is also a 5 year term savings certificate and at the end of the term the profit rate is 11.6 percent. In this category there are five types of savings certificates worth 50 thousand , 1 lakh , 5 lakh and 10 lakh rupees. Launched in 2004, the savings certificate can be used for three consecutive months. Bangladesh Savings Certificate: This is the oldest savings certificate in the country. Launched in 1986. The profit rate of the five-year savings certificate is 11.26 percent at the end of the term. 10 , 50 , 100 and 500 rupees in the market ; These savings certificates are available in denominations of 1 , 5 , 10 , 25 and 50 thousand rupees and 1 , 5 and 10 lakh rupees. In the case of individuals, Bangladesh Savings Certificates can be purchased up to Tk 3 million in single name and up to Tk 60 lakh in joint name. However, in the case of the organization, there is no maximum limit to buy. It is a three-year term and three-month profit-based savings certificate. Launched in 1997. Available at 1 , 2 , 5 and 10 lakh rupees. At the end of the term, the profit rate is 11.04 percent. Everyone can buy it like Bangladesh Savings Certificate. These savings certificates can be purchased up to Tk 30 lakh in single name and up to a maximum of Tk 60 lakh in joint name.
