Earth 's Internal Structure The distance from the Earth's crust to the center is about 5000-6000 kilometers. And across this huge space there are layers of different elements. For example: Curst or crust: The crust covers a space of about 30-35 kilometers inwards from the surface of the earth. Soil , various organic and inorganic matter and vast oceans are part of this crust , although it is the thinnest of the Earth's layers. Mantle : This layer is the next layer of the crust. The location of the Gurumandal covers an area of 2600-2900 km starting from the crust. Much of this layer is covered by molten rock , called magma. Temperatures in this area range from 1000-3000 degrees Celsius. Core or Kendramandal: This layer extends from Gurumandal onwards covering an area of 2000-2200 km. This layer contains mainly alloys of molten iron and nickel. The core is divided into Inner Core and Outer Core . The temperature of the inner core is about 6000 degrees Celsius.
