How many types of RNA and what are they ?

1 Answer

Answer :

RNA - mainly of two types. Namely: - ( i) genetic RNA and ( ii) non-genetic RNA . There are three types of non-genetic RNA : - ( a) r-RNA or ribosomal RNA (b) m-RNA or messenger (messenger) RNA (c) t-RNA or transfer (mutable) RNA .

Description : In DNA and RNA nitrogen is present in the ring system. Can Kjeldahl method can be used for the estimation of nitrogen present in these ?give reasons

Last Answer : In DNA and RNA nitrogen is present in heterocyclic rings. Kjeldahl method can not be used to estimate nitrogen present in the ring because cannot be completely converted in to (NH4)2SO4 during digestion. Therefore Kjeldahl method cannot be used to estimate nitrogen present in DNA and RNA.
