What are the characteristics of fungi ?

1 Answer

Answer :

Any fungus can be seen in any medium suitable for living. Fungi live everywhere in soil , water , air , plant and animal bodies , perishable organisms or fossils. Terrestrial fungi usually thrive in soils rich in organic matter, especially humus . Terrestrial fungi are considered advanced class fungi. The fungus Thalophyta is a national plant i.e. its body is not divided into roots , stems and leaves. The body of almost all fungi except unicellular is made up of branchless or branched thread-like hyphae . Because they do not have any chlorophyll in their body, they cannot make their own food. Fungi are parasitic , parasitic or symbiotic and feed on the process of absorption. The cell wall of the fungus is composed mainly of chitin . In some cases there is cellulose. There is no transport tissue inside the body of the fungus. Their genitals are unicellular or multicellular , they are not surrounded by any sterile cells. They do not produce multicellular embryos. The main stored substance in the cell is glycogen or fat. The fungus cannot move normally. However, some germ cells ( zoospores) are mobile. They reproduce mainly through the production of pollen or spores and are produced by asexual and sexual means. The fungus grows only on the tip. The fungus usually grows in damp , moist and shady places.
