Chlorophyll molecules and their associated electron receptors work together as a unit. The name of this unit is photosystem. The photosystem is located on the thylakoid screen of the chloroplast and can contain up to four hundred chlorophyll molecules. The thylakoid screen contains two types of photosystems. Namely- ( i) Photosystem-1 ( PS – I) and ( ii) Photosystem-2 ( PS – II) .
