Answer :

Nucleus is a quantity related to nucleus. The particles in the nucleus are called nucleons. When the nucleus is hit by an alpha particle , protons and neutrons are usually released. So it can be concluded that the nucleus is the sum of protons and neutrons. Other experiments have shown that there are other particles inside the nucleus, such as neutrinos , masons, etc.
