: The pituitary gland or hypophysis is located in the lower part of the brain. It is the main hormone-producing gland in the human body. This is because on the one hand the number of hormones secreted from the pituitary gland is higher , on the other hand the effect of these hormones on other glands is also greater. Although the most important ductless gland in the body, it is the smallest in size. This gland secretes gonadotropic , sematotropic , thyroid stimulating hormone ( TSH), adrenocorticotropin and other hormones. In addition to affecting other glands, it also releases growth hormones in the human body.
