Charles Babbage, the famous British mathematician, laid down the principles of modern computer. Babbage's principles could not be implemented due to lack of scientific technology. Yet he is called the father of the modern computer for his groundbreaking thinking and efforts. In 18, Dr. Herman Hollerith began researching Charles Babbage's principles for speeding up the work of the American census. Later, in 1911, with the help of two different companies, he set up a computing , tabulating and recording company. Which was later transformed into the world famous IBM (International Business Machine) .
