L band refers to the operating frequency range of 1-2 GHz in the radio spectrum. The wavelength range of L band is 30-15 cm. L-band radar is one of the leading operating ranges used in the Global Positioning System (GPS) , radio , telecommunications and aerial surveillance applications. The L band has low bandwidth due to its low frequency range , this low frequency makes many applications easier to implement. Its equipment is less expensive. It is not suitable for streaming applications such as video , voice and broadband connections. The L-band is less expensive and easier to implement than the C-band and S-band frequency ranges. It is easy to process but requires low cost RF equipment. It has a larger beam width. Overhead is reduced using L-band technology. Also the high signal is not damaged by the high frequency when the copper cox is transmitted over the wire.
