Shaybah Ibn Hashim, known as Abdul Muttalib, was the grandfather of Prophet Muhammad. He was a leader of the Quraish dynasty and the custodian of the sacred Ka'ba house . After the death of his parents, he was the one who raised the child Muhammad. He died when Muhammad was ten years old. An agreement was reached between Banu Abd Mannaf and Banu Abdud Dai regarding the distribution of ranks. As a result of this agreement, the descendants of Abd Mannaf provided water to the pilgrims and hosted the guests. Hashem was a prominent, respected and wealthy man. He introduced the custom of feeding the Suruya bread to the pilgrims of Makkah. His real name was Amr but he was called Hashem because he broke bread and soaked it in Suruya. Hashem means the one who breaks. Hashemite was the first person to arrange two Quraysh trade trips in summer and winter. Praising him, the poet writes that he is the Amr who broke the bread in Makkah and soaked the famine-stricken weak people in Suruwa and arranged for the journey in winter and summer. An important event in Hashem or Amr is that he went on a business trip to Syria. On his way to Medina, he got married to Salma bint Amr of Bani Najjar tribe and stayed there for some time. After becoming pregnant, he left his wife in a paternal house and left for Syria. He died in the Palestinian city of Gaza. Meanwhile, a child was born from Salma's womb. This is the event of 496 AD. The hair on the baby's head was white , which is why Salma named him Shaira (Ibn Hisham , Vol. 1, p. 138 , Rahmatullah Alamin , Vol. 1 , p. 26 , Vol. 2, p. 24). In Yasreb or Medina, Salma raises children in her ancestral home. This child later became known as Abdul Mottaleb. For a long time the people of Hashemite dynasty did not have children of this child. Hashem had four sons and five daughters. Their names are as follows: Asad , Abu Saifi , Nazla , Abdul Mottaleb. The names of the daughters are Shafa , Khaleda , Zayfa , Rokaiya and Jinnat. (Vol. 1 , p. 106).
