A team of researchers from different countries of the world has discovered that the center of the earth also has a center. And this center has all the weird features. These two centers are very different from each other. The idea is that the inner core of our planet is made of solid iron. By observing the center that this center also has , important information about the evolution of the earth can be found. For this study, some researchers from Illinois and researchers from Nanjing University in China observed how seismic waves travel through the earth after an earthquake. This information is taken from the number of earthquakes that occurred between 1992 and 2012. Determining soil composition from earthquakes is not new. This method has been used before in areas close to the surface, but they were the first to use this method to find out what is at the very center of the earth. The seismic data they obtained show that the iron crystals on the inside of the inner core face east-west. Again, the crystals on the outside of the inner core face north-south. This suggests that there is a separate center inside the inner core, which covers about half the space of the inner core. Although it has been noticed before that seismic waves go differently in different places of the inner core, it is not understood that the center of the inner core is there. The crystals of this center are completely opposite to the crystals of the inner core. From this, the researchers speculate that a very large event occurred which caused the crystal direction of the outer part of the inner core to be reversed.
