The story is based on an aristocratic Bengali family of 189. Bhupathi, the head of the family, published an English magazine inspired by pure political thought. The work of the magazine called " Sentinnel" started in his house . I don't have time to pay special attention to my wife who is just entering her youth as she is engrossed in newspaper work day and night. Wife Charulata spends time alone. In her spare time, Charu spends her time studying literature. Bhupathi's wife's loneliness naturally caught his eye. So Charu's brother wrote a letter to Umapada asking his wife to leave. He appointed Umapada as the manager of his newspaper. Charu's character skyrocketed with Umapadar's wife Mandakini. So Charu's loneliness is rarely alleviated. At that time Bhupathi's cousin Amal arrived. Charu's relationship with Amal is already quite close. At first, however, nothing was indicated about them except the normality of Bouthan-Thakurpo. Bhupathi gives Amal the responsibility of bringing out the hidden literary talent in his wife. He also tried to use it to show proof of his magazine. However, Amal did not show much interest in anything other than literary practice. Realizing Umapadar's mental state, Bhupathi gave him all the financial responsibility of the newspaper. Charu's brother may not have raised the question of disbelief in Umapada. Charu, however, does not seem to have been so confident about her brother. Amal started practicing literature with Charu to bring out the hidden talent in her. It started with the tension between Amal , Charulata and Mandakini. It is easy to understand from the private discussion and association that Amal's relationship with Charu is not only Bouthan-Thakurpore , there is something else in it. Meanwhile, Mandakini is also a bit weak towards Amal. So Charu could not bear to talk or associate with Amal. He wanted to show Amal how much better he was than Mandar. After Amal's article was published in the newspaper, he also sent the article to that magazine. Charu's writings are also published and it is seen that Charu has more literary talent than Amal. Meanwhile, Amal's marriage proposal came from Burdwan. After the marriage, the father-in-law will send the son-in-law to Britain. Amal takes more than a month. Charu feels temporary relief as she does not agree immediately. Seeing Charu's behavior, Amal soon realizes that he has to step down to maintain the dignity of his grandfather's faith. Umapada betrays. The newspaper paid only 300 rupees out of 2600 rupees and moved away with the rest. The magazine became obsolete. Bhupathi collapsed. Charu tells Amal not to leave the house at all . But that night Amal ran away from home leaving a small letter for his grandfather. Leaving the magazine, Bhupathi turned his attention to his wife. Goes by the sea. There he had many conversations with his wife , they decided to publish a magazine which would have both Bengali and English parts. Charu will write in Bengali. They returned to Calcutta for this purpose and received Amal's letter. He is currently staying at a friend's house in Madras and is thinking well about marriage. Getting married may be just a matter of time. Without reading the letter, Charu broke down in tears and Bhupathi saw it. His wife's relationship with his brother left him in turmoil. At the time when it was impossible for them to get along, separation is also uncommon in the contemporary context. In the end, their hands did not match. It does not matter if they are reunited or separated. The fact that their nest was broken on that day or at that time is mainly reflected in the film.
