What is meant by atomic number of oxygen ?

1 Answer

Answer :

The number of protons present in the nucleus of an atom of an element is called the atomic number of that element. The number of protons and the number of electrons of an element are also known with the help of atomic number. So the atomic number of oxygen means that the oxygen atom has 6 protons and 8 electrons.
