Political party is a group that contests elections and hold power in the government. They have a consensus on certain policies and programmes that are good for the society. They try to win elections by gaining popular support. The three components of a political party: 1. Leaders: They usually are the experienced members who decide various steps to be taken by the party and guide the other members. 2. Active members: They become a part of the party because they support its policies and ideologies. They work for winning popular support, especially during elections. 3. Followers: They are not workers of the party per se but they believe in the party's policies and ideologies and vote for them.
