Problems affecting the fishing industry in Bangladesh : 1. Severe tropical cyclones which frequently originate in the Bay of Bengal pose a serious threat to fishermen. 2. The present fish catch is still on a small scale, the boats are small and the methods used for fishing are traditional and inefficient.
