answer:I wouldn’t say addictive, which to me is a pretty strong word with a real meaning. But I used to be passionately fond of fried clams and ordered them often. This was back when I lived in the Boston area and they were readily available all over. Then suddenly one day (with a plateful of them in front of me) I lost my appetite for them and thought they were disgusting. Nothing had actually changed except my taste. That was about 40 years ago, and I haven’t had any since.
