A power outage is like a thief in the night. It can strike anywhere and at any time without warning. You may be doing chores or a very important report when the lights suddenly go out. During those times, you are left with practically no eyesight as you grope around your home until the lights come back. If you only had a beeswax candle, things would have been a lot more tolerable. Don’t worry. It is as easy to make a beeswax candle as it is to actually purchase one.
There are only four essential items you need to create a beeswax candle, namely beeswax, a heater, candle wick and a candle mold. All these items are pretty abundant in shopping centers. Budget-wise, you will not have any problems since three of the four important components cost less than a dollar. Making a beeswax candle should not take too much time. You can probably make more than a dozen in an afternoon.
Materials Used:
beeswax
candle mold
boiler
candle wick
candle dye (optional)
perfume (optional)
cutter (optional)
The first step is to mold your candle. Get a good amount of beeswax and place it inside the boiler. Once inside, wait for the wax to melt before placing it inside the candle mold. If you plan to stylize your candle later, take note of the amount of wax placed inside the mold.
Remove any excess amount of melted wax so that the shape of your finished product will be completely identical to the suggested shape of the mold. Before the wax hardens, position the candle wick inside the liquid wax properly and mix in some perfume.
Once the wax dries, take the candle out of the mold then carve patterns on the candle’s surface using a cutter. Apply candle dye to give color to the patterns and designs. When the dye settles and dries, you will have a new beeswax candle.
The beeswax candle is your instant companion whenever blackouts arise. You have no reason to fear the dark as long as you hold on to your little firebrand.
