Interpretation of verse 13 of Surah Shura. [1] The last word that Allah has said in this verse after instructing the establishment of religion is "Do not cause division in religion" or "Do not be separated from one another in it." 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said : One day the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) drew a straight line in front of us, then drew a few more lines to its right and left and said : He advised the people to follow that path, then he pointed to all the lines between them and said :"And this is my straight path , so follow it." [Musnad Ahmad: 1/435] In this parable, the path of the common religion of the prophets and messengers is meant as the straight path. It is haraam and the work of the devil to create divisions and create divisions in it. In this regard, strict prohibition has been mentioned in Hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever deviates from the congregation of Muslims (collectively all ummahs) even half a hand's distance , it is he who removes the bond of Islam from his shoulders." [Abu Dawood: 480] He further said , " Allah has the hand over the Jamaat (ie the Muslim Ummah)." [Nasai: 4020] The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) added , “ Satan is like a tiger to man. The tiger follows the goat. The goat then falls on the back of the flock or on the side which is separated. So you should stay with the team - not separate. [Musnad Ahmad: 5/232] It should be remembered that Muslims are all one Ummah ; When one of them separated from the other, he caused division in the Ummah. This is reprehensible in Sharia.
