Last I heard (please correct if wrong) the data research center verified that documents were stolen, but did not authenticate the documents that have been released. (Although from the CNN article, it sounds as those certain statements are being authenticated by their authors, although with much “please read this paper” statements) The problem I think is that (1) Your question is not what these documents show, and (2) They are taking a decade’s worth of e-mails without context, and without the published research that they are referring to, don’t necessarily make sense.
