Ok, so highlight the cells that contain the data. Then in the menu bar, go to Data – Filter, Advanced Filter. Choose “Copy to another location”, check the box labeled “Unique records only”, and then copy to somewhere else, where you want the list of unique items. And from that, you should be able to count how many rows you have, giving you the answer to the first question. (Menu may slightly differ if you’re not using Office 2007) Hope this helped!
