However, they are not yet socialized (i.e. taught the manners and customs) and so they might do and say things that might ordinarily be considered rude or annoying. e.g. Kid on bus (pointing at old man), “Mommy, how come that guy’s got no hair.” Kid’s mom: “Hush, sweetie. That’s not polite.” (But see, the kid did not know it’s rude to comment about the old man’s baldness. The kid probably just finds that interesting.)
