answer:First off, be sure you’ve downloaded any software updates that may help. If that doesn’t do it, try and create a new user and see if it’s the same there. You can also try booting into safe mode (read here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455). Possibly even better, if you have the chance, boot into Windows and see how it acts there. If it’s behaving fine under another user or in safe mode, you have ruled out the possibility of this being a hardware error. From there, try to figure out what’s different between your user account and the newly created one to see what software may be causing this. If it IS the same regardless of user/safe mode/OS, chances are very large that your airport card is bad. I’m not certain but I do believe these are separate from the motherboard and thus can be exchanged without replacing the entire machine… so, shouldn’t make you completely sad in terms of cost.
