Then you make a counteroffer that is vastly above what you want for it. You need some leeway to go down with the price while the other guy is going up with his offer. And do not be afraid to say no if you think the offer is too low. Use price tags that are above what you want for it, that gives you some play in negotiations, and may prevent people from starting with too low a price.
