Because you miss the companionship and unconditional affection which you enjoyed for 16 years. It’s hardly surprising, that if you enjoyed and loved your dog, that you’d now have an emotional void in your life that you’d like to once again have filled. I’m sure there is a dog out there who’d love to fill it and could use a good home.
